These voyages we will rediscover American & Canadian history. In late spring 2012, we’ll sail from the classic whaling harbor of Gloucester, Massachusetts, around Nova Scotia to Quebec City and Montreal, visiting Alexander Graham Bell’s house en route. During the summer months, we’ve scheduled five individual itineraries among the Great Lakes, with ports as famed as Niagara Falls and Mackinac Island—and as intimate as Sturgeon Bay, a quaint town on Wisconsin’s stunning Door Peninsula. In the autumn, we’ll voyage from Nantucket and Martha’s Vineyard up the Hudson River to West Point; then the Yorktown will sail out of New Orleans to explore the historic cities and islands of the Gulf Coast, a region that offers many attractions yet is seldom visited.

Our journeys embrace many of the pleasures of a luxury cruise—superb service, excellent cuisine, elegantly appointed accommodations, and marvelous ports of call. But that’s where the similarity ends. We believe the most memorable journeys are undertaken aboard small ships with an intimate roster of like-minded guests. Our travelers are adventurous, curious, and have a thirst for learning—travelers who want to voyage beyond the limits of their known world.

The 57-suite Corinthian II is more like a mega-yacht than a passenger cruise ship. That means we can create completely original itineraries that are based on specific historical and cultural themes. Viewing the places we visit from this perspective adds meaning and substance to the experience we deliver to travelers. For more than 40 years, we’ve partnered with America’s leading cultural and educational institutions. Each voyage is accompanied by experts archaeologists, art historians, literature professors, scientists, foreign policy specialists, journalists, and world-class musicians—who share their knowledge with travelers through a series of lectures and presentations. And with them, our guests hear the secrets beyond the silent stones—into the past, the future, and the cultural riches that bind them. Many of our guests tell us that it’s the best trip of their lives. We hope you’ll be one of them.
